Brown anole lizard — Jensen Beach, Florida (November 2015)
Sony RX100 IV + Zeiss 1.8-2.8/24-70mm
While walking back from dinner in Jensen Beach, Florida a couple of weeks ago, we spotted this little guy running along a short fence and — of course — Cindy has to get a closer look. He’s no dummy, and as soon as he discovers she has him cornered — surprise, surprise! — he decided to jump on her arm and scurry up to her shoulder, where he posed long enough for me to take this close-up.
I think this is a brown anole male, though it may be a juvenile because we didn’t spot the dewlap that the adult males display.
No, Cindy didn’t freak out; she loves little critters and was delighted to have him hitch a brief ride, though she was careful to ease him back onto the fence after the impromptu photo session.
